It is saying that in this time it is better to not drink around the outrageous people that do drink and so stupid things. Like in the present the people who drink and drive. They cause accidents and it is better not to drink. It represents the roaring twenties by showing about all the people that did drink back then and did un-logical things.

Showing the roaring twenties adventurous period and full of parties. With all the people that go through it. Today we still have those parties like sweet 16.

That girls didn't have the full respect of men yet and all they could be is fools to get money or somewhere. As of today though everything has changed. Women don't have to be fools but whatever they want to be.

Meaning that there are only people who have or still are following their dreams. People that are doing there jobs or tired from doing things for so long. It is still like that today also.

That in this time period race or intelligence does not matter. It is only the sick and well is how you were defined.

F_Scott_Fitzgerald_1921.jpgF. Scott Fitzgerald lived an eventful life. He was born September 24, 1896 in Minnesota. He studied at Princeton University and was where he developed his love for writing. His first novel led him to fame and fortune. It allowed him to marry his wife. He later developed a drinking problem and his wife broke down mentally. He moved to Hollywood after the fail of the novel Tender is the Night. In 1940 he died of a heart attack.

Summary
           The Great Gatsby is a book that takes place during the 1920s and portrays the typical roaring 20s lifestyle. With the fast cars and lavish lifestyles it is hard not to consider The Great Gatsby as a whole some American novel. The Great Gatsby is a story about Jay Gatsby as told by Nick Caraway. It takes place in New York on West and East egg Long Island. Nick moves into the house next to Gatsby on West egg. They live across the river form Nick's cousin Daisy, who Gatsby is in love with. Nick comes to be Gatsby's best  friend and learns about his past and the obsession he had with Daisy. Gatsby's love for Daisy ended up being more trouble then it was worth.
